Brazzers House Needs Major Changes

If Brazzers House returns for a fourth season then it needs a format overhaul.

In its current form all it is is a popularity contest and truly has nothing to do 

with the competition. 3 of the 5 finalists from this year’s edition are undeserving 

of their spot in the final.

How did we get here? 

It is no secret Brazzers uses Brazzers House to advertise and showcase new talent or girls that are regulars on the Brazzers site. Brazzers released the list of girls eligible to compete in the third installment of the ‘reality’ series in early 2018. Fans then got to vote in the competitors or so Brazzers said. 

One exception from the list of candidates was Lela Star, but here she is in the Final. Clearly Brazzers did not honor fan votes and included the stars they wanted anyways. 

Another example demonstrating the fan vote was a farce was Adriana Chechik’s exclusion. Arguably the greatest pornstar of the decade and 2017 AVN Female Performer of the Year was snubbed. I mean no disrespect to the other pornstars in the House, but there is no way they received more votes than Adriana Chechik.

Instead what Brazzers did was include a diverse cast of stars. I have no problem with the idea; my criticism lies with the idea’s execution. There was no need to have a fan vote to determine who was going to be in the house if you had no intentions of honoring the top vote getters in the first place. 

So the final list of competitors ranged in diversity and popularity. In a glorified popularity contest. The more popular stars however, were always going to be the top vote receivers. 

The 5 finalists include Nicolette Shea, Gina Valentina, Bridgette B, Lela Star, and Karma Rx. Over half of them did not perform well enough to earn the votes they received and that is because performance never mattered. Katrina Jade and Kissa Sins outperformed everyone in the house except for Nicolette Shea, but they are not in the Final. 

3 Major changes must happen to create a fair competition, and bring validation and integrity to the House.

1. Reduce Fan Voting Power

It is clear fans do not vote based on who deserves it or not, but who they like. This takes away the fairness between competitors. An alternative to this is to have a panel of judges that consists of retired pornstars, producers, or directors that would vote for the top 5 stars each episode. Fans would also get to vote for their top 5. At the end of each voting period the top 5 fan vote getters will receive 1 vote each. This is a huge difference from the current format where fans have all the power. Now, actual porn industry experts will equate votes based on performance which creates a fairer competition and also includes fan interaction with their voting. 

2. Change Episode Format

Camera time is not evenly divided among the stars. To make sure equal time is given to performers there needs to be an organized format. First separate the stars into two teams (5 stars each). This will make it easier for group orgy scenes. Have one group perform for 25 minutes and then the next group has a 25 minute orgy. It is too difficult to have orgies with 10 girls in a competition. 

Producers also need to create a list of competitions that will challenge the stars. Do not use games like musical cock or whatever was used in this past season. Instead for example have blowjob competitions. The idea is to have challenges that get the stars to perform. Do not have stupid games. 

Leave out the cringe inducing drama. For example, in the Finale Bridgette B is shown being upset with Nicolette Shea because she said if she won she would share the winnings. Bridgette said she told Nicolette she was going to do that and suggested Nicolette took her idea..... OMG DRAMA. That was completely unnecessary to include. If people want drama they can watch Keeping up with the Kardashians. People watch porn to get off and not to hear about cringe causing drama. 

One more point on cringe content. Do not have the interviewee look awkward. This speaks to the lack of professionalism missing in the series.

3. Camera Work

The Brazzers House 3 camera work flat out sucked. Too often performers were in the background while others performed in front of them. Not good. This has to do with location as well. If you are shooting in locations that don’t allow for more than two or 3 girls to be featured in the front then the location needs adjusting.

Also the use of drones do not work in porn. If you have to use a drone to get a better shot than you need to rethink the scene and its choreography. This isn’t an overhead panning shot of Central Park in New York. This is porn. Do not make things more complicated than what they need to be. Follow the basics that work when filming porn. Especially in a competition. 

Overall there was improvement from Season 1 to Season 3, but there are flaws from within that hold it back. The show will always be popular, but also pointless since people aren’t voting based on the show, but on personal favoritism heading in. If you are happy hosting a popularity contest keep the show the same. If you want to host an actual competition restructure the show.
